My dad loves to tell stories. He's good at it too.
One word from his stories always stuck out to me as a kid: meandering. I think I took note for two reasons. One, he used it all the time, and, two, he seemed to be the only one using it! He might apply it to unproductive coworkers or a ball player lost on the court. Meandering happened more than you might think, in his stories at least. But mostly he used it about deer. Deer don't walk, apparently. They meander.
That's how I like to think about writing in this space. I'm meandering. It's not wandering, and it's not exactly aimless. Here I explore the terrain underneath where I stand, walk, and live with God.
In this space I want to explore questions and continue conversations about Christianity and ministry. It's my prayer that God works through these meanderings to bless you and to make much of the name of Jesus.
I'm a minister with the Oliver Creek Church of Christ in the Memphis, TN area. I have an amazing wife and three young children. Thanks for reading. -Smith
